We at Blind Crow will tell stories. Human stories. And we will deal with the rough and the smooth – the pleasure and the pain – marrying the real with the cinematic so as to give the audience member the fullest of theatrical experiences whereby they subconsciously immerse themselves in the world of the film, and then consciously examine that which they have just seen.
We are fascinated with ambiguity; morale, psychological and motivational. And we will continue to provoke discussion, guiding people towards questions, but never answers – for that would presuppose we have them.
We are concerned with similarities and how our humanity binds us together, as well as differences and how easily we are prepared to throw our humanity out of the window.
We wish to document the movements of our time; social and political, cultural and philosophical – regardless of how subtle. However, we will also highlight the timeless, the classic, the undateable so as to remind us that whilst all things change, they do so slowly.
We will be concerned with the film as a whole, from the first word on the page, to the final master, and how they, and everything else in between, will affect our audience.
We will continue to produce material devoid of compromise, complacency or comfort. We will explore our art, we will adapt and we will learn – we will give our audience everything we can – manifested in beautiful and honest images, full and vibrant worlds, real and effecting characters, and stimulating, thought provoking stories.
